Shared Pour Terms

A rare bottle. A shared experience. A considered commitment.

Archive Shared Pour allows eligible members of The Whisky Archive to express interest in sharing selected bottles of Scotch whisky through individually priced portions.

Eligibility & Participation

Participation is available only to registered Archive members aged 18 years or over. Shared Pour availability, portion sizes, quantities, pricing, and participation periods are determined separately for each eligible bottle.

A Shared Pour commitment is not a purchase, reservation, or guarantee of allocation. No payment is taken when a commitment is made.

Members may commit to portions across multiple available options for the same bottle, subject to availability and the applicable Shared Pour rules. Commitments are processed in chronological order, and a member may commit to more than one portion.

Commitments & Finalisation

Each Shared Pour may offer several portion configurations. The first option to reach its required number of committed portions becomes the provisional winning option. Commitments to unsuccessful options are released without charge.

Once an option is fully committed, the Shared Pour enters a finalisation stage. During this period, new commitments and changes to existing commitments may be restricted or unavailable. A fully committed option does not guarantee that the bottle has been secured.

Until The Whisky Archive confirms that a bottle has been secured for Shared Pour, it may remain available for outright purchase through other Archive sales channels. If the bottle is sold or becomes unavailable before confirmation, the Shared Pour may be cancelled, and no payment will be collected for unfulfilled commitments.

Allocations & Payments

Following confirmation, eligible portions are allocated according to the applicable commitment order and availability. Portions beyond the initial allocation may be placed in a reserve queue, where permitted.

Members receiving an allocation will be notified of the applicable payment instructions, price, and payment deadline. Payment is completed separately through The Whisky Archive's secure checkout. An allocation is not considered purchased until payment has been successfully completed.

Failure to complete payment within the specified period may result in the allocation being released or offered to an eligible member in the reserve queue. Reserve participation does not guarantee an allocation.

Once payment has been completed, any cancellation, refund, or withdrawal request is subject to applicable Australian Consumer Law and the terms communicated at checkout. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Bottle Opening & Portion Preparation

The bottle remains sealed until all portions required for the selected Shared Pour have been paid for and the Shared Pour is ready to proceed.

Following full funding, the bottle will be opened and its whisky portioned under The Whisky Archive's supervision. Reasonable care will be taken in handling, measuring, packaging, and preparing each portion for delivery.

Shared Pour portions are intended for personal enjoyment and are supplied in the portion sizes and packaging described for the relevant offer. Minor practical variations arising from handling and measurement may occur, subject to applicable consumer guarantees and product description requirements.

Pricing

Shared Pour prices may reflect the rarity of the bottle, portion size, packaging, handling, administration, and fulfilment costs. The combined price of individual portions may exceed the retail price of the original full bottle.

Delivery & Age Verification

Delivery is available only to eligible Australian addresses and is subject to applicable liquor licensing requirements, state and territory laws, restricted delivery areas, carrier availability, and age-verification requirements.

Alcohol cannot be delivered to declared dry zones or other locations where delivery is prohibited by law. The Whisky Archive may cancel and refund an affected purchase where delivery cannot lawfully be completed.

Participants must be aged 18 years or over. Proof of age may be required at purchase and delivery, and delivery may be refused where applicable legal or identification requirements are not satisfied.

Cancellations & Changes

The Whisky Archive may cancel, suspend, or close a Shared Pour where necessary due to bottle unavailability, insufficient funding, payment failures, legal restrictions, operational issues, or other circumstances that prevent lawful or practical fulfilment. Any payments already collected will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the cancellation.

The Whisky Archive may update Shared Pour procedures for future offers. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued statutory rights or alter confirmed purchases contrary to applicable law.
