A Rare Mature Islay Release

Distilled at Laphroaig in 1991 and matured for 20 years in a single sherry hogshead, this limited independent release was bottled in 2011 by Liquid Sun at natural cask strength. Bottled without chill filtration and presented at 53.3% ABV, it captures an older style of mature Laphroaig balancing medicinal peat smoke, coastal intensity, and rich sherried depth. Only 279 bottles were produced.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Coastal peat smoke, iodine, polished oak, dried fruits, leather, sea spray, and dark sherried sweetness.
• Palate: Full-bodied and oily with medicinal peat, smoked citrus, treacle, ash, salted caramel, dark fruit, and warming spice.
• Finish: Long, smoky, and drying with lingering maritime salinity, earthy peat, old oak, and subtle sherry richness.
