A Sherry-Finished Islay Classic
Bowmore 15 Year Old is an official Islay single malt matured initially in bourbon barrels before spending its final three years in Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 43% ABV, the extended sherry finish brings dark fruit, chocolate and rich sweetness into balance with Bowmore’s characteristic peat smoke and maritime character. Formerly known as Darkest, this established age-stated expression offers a distinctly richer interpretation of the Bowmore house style.

About the Bottling
Bowmore 15 Year Old combines traditional bourbon-barrel maturation with an extended three-year finish in Oloroso sherry casks. This secondary maturation gives the whisky its notably deep colour and adds layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, treacle and spice to Bowmore’s underlying peat smoke. Previously known as Bowmore Darkest, the expression has become a recognisable part of the distillery’s age-stated range and has earned substantial international competition recognition across multiple years.
About the Distillery
Established in 1779, Bowmore is one of Islay’s historic distilleries and is closely associated with the island’s long tradition of peated single malt. Its No.1 Vaults maturation warehouse, positioned beside Loch Indaal, is among the best-known traditional whisky warehouses in Scotland. Bowmore’s style often balances maritime peat smoke with fruit and measured oak influence, with sherry-matured expressions forming an important part of its modern identity.
