Released as part of the 2022 Diageo Special Releases collection, this 12 year old Lagavulin presents the distillery’s powerful Islay character at natural cask strength. Matured in a combination of refill American oak and virgin American oak casks and bottled at 57.3% ABV, the release places extra emphasis on peat smoke, spice and maritime intensity while retaining the underlying sweetness associated with Lagavulin.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Powerful peat smoke and charcoal lead, followed by coastal air, earthy notes, citrus peel and a touch of vanilla.
• Palate: Lightly oily and initially sweet, developing into lemon citrus, sea salt, warming oak spice and increasingly intense peat smoke.
• Finish: Long, drying and smoky, with lingering peat, peppery spice and maritime salinity.
